Harry S. Dent, Jr., Founder and CEO

Using exciting new research developed from years of hands-on business experience, Harry S. Dent, Jr. offers a refreshingly positive and understandable view of the economic future. In his new book, The Great Depression Ahead, (Free Press, 2009), Harry Dent outlines how this next great downturn is likely to unfold in three stages, with an interim boom stage between 2012 and 2017 before the long-term slowdown finally turns into the next global boom in the early 2020s. In his book The Great Boom Ahead, published in 1992, Mr. Dent stood virtually alone in accurately forecasting the unanticipated “Boom” of the 1990s. Today he continues to educate audiences about his predictions for the next and possibly last great bull market, from late 2005 into early to mid 2010. Since 1992 he has authored two consecutive best sellers The Roaring 2000s and The Roaring 2000s Investor (Simon and Schuster). In his latest book, The Next Great Bubble Boom, he offers a comprehensive forecast for the next two decades and explains how fundamental trends suggest strong growth ahead, followed by a longer-term economic contraction. Mr. Dent also publishes the HS Dent Forecast newsletter, which offers current analysis of economic, and financial market trends.

Mr. Dent received his MBA from Harvard Business School, where he was a Baker Scholar and was elected to the Century Club for leadership excellence. Since 1988 he has been speaking to executives, financial advisors and investors around the world. He has appeared on “Good Morning America”, PBS, CNBC, CNN/FN, and has been featured in Barron’s, Investor’s Business Daily, Entrepreneur, Fortune, Success, US News and World Report, Business Week, The Wall Street Journal, American Demographics and Omni.

While at Bain & Company he worked as a consultant with several Fortune 100 companies. He has also been CEO of several entrepreneurial growth companies and an investor in new ventures. A frequent speaker on economic trends, Mr. Dent educates clients and partners on The Dent Method and provides strategic vision for asset allocation and investment selection.

Rodney Johnson, President

Rodney Johnson is the President of HS Dent Publishing, an independent economic research company that focuses on how people spend money as they go through predictable stages of life, and how that spending drives our economy. Using this approach, HS Dent has been able to accurately forecast economic changes for two decades. As President of HS Dent, Mr. Johnson oversees the research staff, the publication of materials, and the day-to-day operations of the company.

HS Dent researches and publishes reports on topics such as The Death of Pensions, The Long Winter Ahead, Immigration and Migration, and Demographic Trends in Real Estate. HS Dent also publishes a monthly economic newsletter, The HS Dent Forecast. Mr. Johnson is a regular contributor to the newsletter and one of the authors for many of the reports.

Rodney Johnson also serves as the President of HS Dent Investment Management, an Investment Advisory firm registered with the SEC. Mr. Johnson is the co-Chair of the investment selection committee and the co-manager of the Dent Strategic Portfolio mutual fund. Mr. Johnson is the General Partner of the Clear Springs Fund, LP, an absolute return hedge fund focused on capital preservation and consistent returns.

He began his career in financial services on Wall Street in the 1980s with Thomson McKinnon and then Prudential Securities, and started working on projects with the HS Dent organization in the mid 1990s. Mr. Johnson is a regular guest on several radio programs and is featured on television where he discusses economic trends ranging from the price of oil to the direction of the US economy. Mr. Johnson holds degrees from Georgetown University and Southern Methodist University.

Harry Cornelius

Harry Cornelius specializes in bringing people and ideas together, as well as developing joint ventures to enhance businesses.

Mr. Cornelius started his career in the banking industry in Chicago, and soon became the youngest Chairman of the Board of a Chicago Bank. After negotiating the sale of the bank, Cornelius continued his career as the President of another Chicago company that provided pre-paid optical care to several labor unions. He then helped take the company public. In the 80’s Cornelius was associated with a gold jewelry company that became the largest supplier for one day gold sales events in major department stores where sales were often in the six figures.

As a real estate developer in Vermont, Cornelius started a company that developed land, then constructed and brokered homes. Over the course of several years, the company created over 100 home sites on 400 acres of land, building and selling the majority of the homes.

In 1995 Cornelius joined Harry S. Dent, Jr. and HS Dent as a marketing consultant and business strategist, where he continues the majority of his work today. During this association Cornelius has assisted the Dent Companies in developing strategic relationships within the financial services and publishing industries.
