I'm confused. I thought you had to subscribe to the newsletter to gain access to this forum. HS Dent has been issuing lots of updates and guidance. If you're not getting them then either you didn't sign up for the $300 newsletter or you're not receving his emails, or your subscription expired.

I've been sharing my little investment ideas in the "Share your investment strategies" section, which is different than this one. Your discussion above might be better suited for that section too. You'll notice in my postings I'm referring to Harry's updates.

If you don't want to spend the $300 for the newsletter, I don't blame you for feeling that way. I felt the same way for a couple months after buying the book and getting the free update emails. Then I realized I was craving more updates so I could manage several 10's of thousands of dollars, but holding out on $300. When I saw that image I realized I was being penny wise and pound foolish.

Either the newsletter is worth far more than $300 or its worth far less. I'm really glad I got it but won't know what its worth for a while yet. Sometimes the advise works and sometimes it doesn't. If its right more often enough than wrong, it'll be well worth it.

Its now August 14th. The consumer sentiment (as cooked as it is, as is everything else) knocked stocks back early, but the plunge protection team and sheepy mutual funds propped the market back up to a respectable loss at the close. The pumpers haven't given up yet....
Man, am I nauseated by this nonsense!

I have to say, if you see my original post (in July), its now Oct 5 and Mr Dent isn't looking too good with his forecasting skills! Now perhaps being a 'trend' guy, he may realistically have until EOY, however if by Jan1, market didn't tank (in either of his two projections), Mr Dent, although a smart guy was DEAD WRONG this time.

Mr Dent would better serve his customers if he would abandon trying to pick targets on the Dow, etc. He is usually wrong with the numbers. His analysis on trends seems to be good, but the timing is awful. You should not invest money based on his timing. Let the market tell you when to buy and sell. He does not have the answers.

I'm reading these comments around Jan 20th 2010.
It should be obvious to anyone that all those who bailed were wrong and got out at or near the bottom, March 9, 2009.
It is an actual fact that my timing system got me and my clients OUT on Jan 8, 2008. Yes, 2008. The same system called back in on July 31, 2009. Yes 2009.
I am sorry for the losses that too many have sustained. I will dispute that no one can time the market. I just did it, and also did it in 2000-2003. No, it isn't perfect and suffers from being a bit late with the signals.
Now, before someone chastizes me for not publishing this before, I say, 1) It isn't my obligation and 2) I don't depend on this forum for my clients.
