Mac issues accessing the PDF Newsletter
- If you are receiving a protected content error message when accessing our newsletter on your Mac:
This problem is caused with some Mac computers using the Adobe Acrobat Reader. We’re working on eliminating a bug that apparently only affects Mac users downloading our “password protected” PDF’s who aren’t using the default “Preview” PDF viewer that is bundled with Safari.
We had hoped the issue had been resolved, but we’ve had a number of Mac users still report this problem. For now, you should find that the problem can be avoided by either downloading the PDF to your Mac before opening it in your PDF reader, or by using the Safari browser with the default “Preview” PDF reader.
To change your default viewer, open Acrobat Reader and go to preferences -> internet and uncheck the option to use acrobat to display pdf in browsers. Then close Acrobat Reader and try accessing the newsletter PDF from the website again.
If you have Firefox installed on your Mac, you might be able to access the newsletter without any issues if you use that browser.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may be causing and we are seeking a solution to this odd problem some of you using Macs are experiencing.
